Biopsy
In the first stage of CHONDRON® ACI, the patient is admitted in the hospital and cartilage cells are taken from the damaged joint. The cells are cultivated for 3-4 weeks at the Cell Processing Centre.
Culture
During the culture process, cells are expanded to obtain sufficient number for implantation. In second stage, the cultured cells are securely transferred to the hospital and the patient undergoes CHONDRON® ACI implantation via minimally invasive surgical procedure.
Implant
During CHONDRON® ACI implantation, the gel-based cell construct fully adapts to the cartilage defect both in height and diameter. This means significantly less interference with the actual joint and further maximum possible protection of the joint. On average, reduced surgery time is observed unlike traditional surgical procedures.
Rehab
Recovery time is considerably reduced and movement therapy begins on third day after surgery. Partial pressure can be applied after four weeks and after six weeks the joint can be fully weighted.
Life After CHONDRON®
The CHONDRON® ACI regeneration procedure revives knee in a substantially shorter time than ever before.
